What is Fortify Discipleship at Evolve?

The ongoing mission of building disciples that follow Jesus in every aspect of their life. A disciple is anyone under the teaching of something or someone. Therefore, as disciples of Jesus, we submit our life to the example and word of Christ himself, who emulated the nature of His Father with the endowed help of the Holy Spirit. As Christ followers, we get to share in this everlasting relationship with the Father (John 17:3) and are gifted the same Spirit to navigate life that raised Christ from the dead (Romans 8:11). Discipleship reveals to us the power of both and pushes us to a life devoted to sharing this good news with others.

At Evolve, two major discipleship opportunities are offered to members and non-members alike. Life groups and discipleship classes.

DISCPLESHIP CLASSES

Discipleship classes at Evolve Church are 11 weeks of Bible centered teaching combined with community building through small groups. Proverbs 4:7 tells us in all your getting, get an understanding, and every discipleship class at Evolve adds understanding to the foundation of our lives that is Christ. Your preference to take these classes virtually or in person is indicated upon registration. Faith Foundations Part I is geared toward new and growing disciples looking to be grounded in their identity and intimacy with Christ. Fundamental Christian tenants such as salvation, faith, baptism, the Holy Trinity, and forgiveness to name a few make up the core teachings for this course.

Faith Foundations Part II is geared toward new and growing disciples looking to be grounded in their identity and intimacy with Christ. Fundamental Christian tenants such as daily devotion, dying to self, financial stewardship, and servant leadership make up the core teachings for this course.

Life of a Disciple is geared toward those seeking spiritual discipline and maturity that Christ demands of His followers. Fundamental Christian tenants such as building on salvation, daily rhythms, operating in faith, heart posture, and spiritual warfare make up the core teachings for this course.

Life More Abundantly is geared toward disciples seeking everyday evidence of God's power working in them and around them. Fundamental Christian tenants such as discerning the voice of God, Godly relationships, healthy thinking, financial freedom, and self-discipline make up the core teachings for this course.

Sword of the Spirit is geared toward disciples who want to radically improve their understanding of God's word. This course covers the basics of how to effectively study scripture, the connection between the Old and New Testaments, and above all, the power of God's word in Christ through submission.

The Work of an Evangelist is geared toward disciples who are ready to take their faith to others. This course covers the differences between the gift of evangelism from the work of witnessing, witnessing through hardship, and the fulfillment of God's will through evangelism.
